We replaced a gas-fired clothes dryer with a Miele heat pump clothes dryer - it works great and is far more gentle on fabrics, with no extremely high heat and no outside exhaust to waste heated inside air during the winter - however, you do need a modern high RPM spin cycle on your washer for the dryer to work properly - a bonus is it runs on 120V so you do not need to upgrade to a 240V circuit

We replaced a gas-fired domestic hot water heater with an electric heat pump model back in 2016, and it is still working great today, in 2026 - 10 years! The only maintenance has been cleaning the air filter intake once in a while (very easy) and the protective sacrificial anode after the first 8 years.

I have signed up with NexAmp for community solar, and saved over $380/year on my electric bill. I was on a wait list for a year -- but its worth it. One caution, you can build up credits during the summer when the commuity solar project is producing more energy credits than we use, I then use up the credits in the winter.
